How to embed tweets on any website with HTML
On a hand-coded or static site, paste the snippet where the wall should appear.
Steps
Copy the code
Build your wall in AddTweets and click Copy code.
Paste it into your page
Put the snippet in your HTML where the tweets should appear. The script tag can stay with it or move to just before </body>.
Upload and check
Publish the page and open it on desktop and phone. The tweets appear immediately; the script only arranges them.
Good to know
- With several walls on one page, keep only one copy of the embed.js script tag.
- Using a Content Security Policy? Allow scripts from addtweets.com and images from pbs.twimg.com.
- Static site generators (Astro, Hugo, Jekyll, Next.js): paste the snippet in a raw HTML block or component.
Questions
Does the wall work without JavaScript?
Yes. Without the script, visitors and search engines see the tweets as a clean list of quotes with links. The script adds the wall, slider or carousel layout.
Can I change the styling with my own CSS?
Yes. The wall uses classes that start with at- and CSS variables such as --at-accent and --at-radius on the .addtweets element.
Do I need to update the code when I add tweets?
Yes. The tweets are inside the code, so after you change a wall in AddTweets, copy the new code and replace the old one. Save the wall to your account so you can reopen and edit it.
