How to embed tweets on a Shopify store
Shopify themes built on Online Store 2.0 have a Custom Liquid section that takes the AddTweets code directly.
Steps
Copy the code
Build a wall or carousel of customer tweets in AddTweets and click Copy code.
Open the theme editor
In Shopify admin go to Online Store → Themes → Customize and open the page or template where the tweets should go.
Add a Custom Liquid section
Click Add section, choose Custom Liquid, paste the code into its field and save.
Good to know
- Put the carousel near the Add to cart area or right under product reviews, where buyers look for proof.
- To show the same wall on every product page, add it to the product template rather than a single product.
- Older themes without Custom Liquid: add a Custom HTML section or paste the code into a page's HTML view.
Questions
Do I need a Shopify app for tweet testimonials?
No. Apps usually add their own scripts and monthly fees. The Custom Liquid section is part of your theme.
Will it slow down my store?
No. The tweets are part of the page HTML and the layout script is about 4 KB.
Do I need to update the code when I add tweets?
Yes. The tweets are inside the code, so after you change a wall in AddTweets, copy the new code and replace the old one. Save the wall to your account so you can reopen and edit it.
