How to embed tweets on a Wix site

Wix places custom HTML inside a frame, so the one extra step is setting the frame's height.

Steps

  1. Copy the code

Build your wall in AddTweets. A carousel or slider fits Wix frames best because its height is predictable.

  2. Add an Embed HTML element

In the Wix Editor click Add Elements → Embed Code → Embed HTML, then choose Code and paste the snippet.

  3. Resize the frame

Drag the element's handles until the whole wall is visible on desktop, then check the mobile view and adjust there too.

Good to know

  • Wix shows embedded code in an iframe. If cards are cut off, make the element taller; the wall can't resize the frame by itself.
  • For a long wall of many tweets, use the carousel layout instead so the height stays fixed.

Questions

Can search engines read tweets embedded on Wix?

Less well than on other platforms, because Wix puts custom HTML in a separate frame. If search visibility matters, put a few key quotes in a normal Wix text block as well.

Why is there a scrollbar inside the wall?

The frame is shorter than the wall. Make the Embed HTML element taller or switch to the carousel layout.

Do I need to update the code when I add tweets?

Yes. The tweets are inside the code, so after you change a wall in AddTweets, copy the new code and replace the old one. Save the wall to your account so you can reopen and edit it.
